Joe Wark (born October 9, 1947 – died October 1, 2015) was a famous Scottish footballer. He was known for playing his entire professional career with just one team: Motherwell Football Club. He played in an incredible 464 games for them in the Scottish Football League.

A Football Legend
Joe Wark started his journey in football with Irvine Victoria. He then joined Motherwell FC in 1968. He played as a left back. For 16 years, from 1968 to 1984, he was a key player for Motherwell. He scored 14 goals during his time there. Joe Wark was a true "one-club man." This means he played for only one professional team his whole career. It's a rare and special achievement in football!
Representing Scotland
In 1976, Joe Wark also had the honor of playing for the Scottish Football League XI. This team was made up of top players from the Scottish Football League. He played one game for this special representative team.
Helping Others: The Remember Well Project
Later in his life, Joe Wark faced some health challenges. He was diagnosed with dementia. He decided to take part in a special program called the "Remember Well project." This project was designed to help people with memory problems. It was a team effort by several groups. These included North Lanarkshire Council, Motherwell FC, NHS Lanarkshire, and Alzheimer's Scotland. Joe Wark passed away on October 1, 2015.

Joe Wark's amazing career and loyalty to Motherwell FC did not go unnoticed. On September 23, 2021, a big announcement was made. Joe Wark was going to be added to the Motherwell F.C. Hall of Fame.
