A Career in Politics

John Fitzgibbon's political journey was long. It started during a time called the Land War. This was when farmers fought for fairer land rights. He continued his work through the Ranch War, another period of land disputes.

In 1910, Fitzgibbon became a Member of Parliament (MP). He was elected to represent South Mayo in the United Kingdom Parliament. This meant he helped make laws for the country.
