Discovering the Gluek House
The Gluek House is a great example of a building style called Colonial Revival. This style was popular around the early 1900s. It often uses ideas from older American and European buildings.
What Makes it Special?
An expert named Paul Larson studied the Gluek House. He said it's a wonderful example of Victorian architecture. It has many fancy details from the Georgian Revival style. These details make the house look very grand.
The Unique Carriage House
Behind the main house, there's a two-story carriage house. This building is even more interesting! It used to be a stable for horses. It also had a place to store hay to feed them. Paul Larson even said its hay storage doors are some of the fanciest in the Twin Cities area.
Inside the House
Many of the original parts inside the Gluek House are still there. For example, you can still see the old icebox. This shows how people lived a long time ago.
The Future of the Gluek House
New owners have recently bought the Gluek House. They plan to update the home for modern living. But they also want to make sure its historical look and feel stay the same. This way, the house will keep its special character for many years to come.
