John S. Konesky (born November 19, 1980) is an American guitarist and music producer. He is best known for being the lead electric guitar player for the comedy rock band Tenacious D.

John Konesky's Musical Journey
Early Life and Bands
John Konesky grew up in Columbus, Ohio. When he was young, he played in a band with his friend John Spiker. A friend helped John and John Spiker meet Kyle Gass. Kyle Gass is a guitarist from the famous band Tenacious D. Kyle was looking for musicians for his own band called Trainwreck.
Joining Trainwreck and Tenacious D
In 2003, John Konesky moved to Los Angeles. He became the electric guitarist for Trainwreck. In 2005, John and John Spiker played on Tenacious D's second album. This album was called The Pick of Destiny. After that, they joined Tenacious D for their live shows. They became extra live members of the band.
In 2009, John Konesky and Kyle Gass started a YouTube channel. It was called Guitarings. In 2010, Trainwreck stopped playing together. John and Kyle then formed a new band called Kyle Gass Band. John also started a country band called Wynchester in 2012. Wynchester released their first album in 2018. They even toured with Tenacious D!
Grammy Award Win
John Konesky was a member of Tenacious D when they won a Grammy Award in 2015. They won for their cover of the song "The Last in Line" by the band Dio. A Grammy Award is a very important prize in music.
