John McDonogh (born 1941, died 2012) was a famous Irish hurler. He played as a full-back for the Limerick senior team. A full-back is a key defensive player in hurling.
John was born in Ballysimon, Limerick. He started playing hurling at a young age. He first joined the Limerick minor team when he was just sixteen years old.
Playing for Limerick
John McDonogh joined the senior Limerick team in the 1963 championship. He was a regular player for Limerick over the next few years. He played in 9 championship games during his career.
His time playing for Limerick ended after the 1970 championship. Even though he played for many years, he did not win any major titles with the senior team.
