Early Life and Work
John O'Malley was born in County Mayo, Ireland. He later moved to the United States. He first settled in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1902, he moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Before becoming a politician, O'Malley worked as a stone mason. This means he built things using stone. He also owned saloons, which were places where people could gather. He had these businesses in both St. Louis and Milwaukee. Later, he worked for the Milwaukee Street Department, helping to manage the city's streets.
Public Service
John O'Malley decided to serve his community in government. He was a member of the Democratic Party. From 1933 to 1937, he served in the Wisconsin State Assembly. This is a part of the state government that helps make laws for Wisconsin.
O'Malley passed away in a hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on September 15, 1940, after a short illness.
