Sir John Talbot was the son of Sir Gilbert Talbot (who lived from 1452 to 1517 or 1518). Sir Gilbert was a very important knight, even being part of the Order of the Garter, a special group of knights. Sir John's mother was Etheldreda Cotton, from a family in Cambridgeshire.
His Marriages and Children
Sir John Talbot was married twice during his life. He had many children from both marriages.

His first wife was Margaret Troutbeck. She came from Mobberley in Chester. With Margaret, Sir John had three sons and five daughters.
