Johnny Ray Gill is an American actor who has appeared in many TV shows and movies. He was born on August 26, 1984. He is known for his roles in TV series like Rectify and BrainDead.
Growing Up and Learning
Johnny Ray Gill grew up in Portland, Oregon. He went to Jefferson High School and finished in 2002. After high school, he studied at the University of Southern California for a year. Then, he moved to Temple University where he earned his first college degree in theater. He later got another advanced degree, called a Master of Fine Arts (MFA), from the University of California, San Diego. This degree helps actors become even better at their craft.
Acting Career
Johnny Ray Gill has acted in both films and television shows. In movies, he played Eric in Opening Night and Rufus Paisley in Rollers.
He has appeared in many popular TV series. He was in Harry's Law and Bones. He also had a role in the fantasy series True Blood. From 2013 to 2016, he played Kerwin Whitman in the show Rectify. He was also a main character, Gustav Triplett, in all 13 episodes of BrainDead. Later, he appeared in Underground and NCIS. More recently, in 2024, he played Bobby Trey in the series Cross.
Besides TV and movies, Johnny Ray Gill has also lent his voice to video games. He was part of the "Local Population" in Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2.
