Joie Susannah Lee is an American actress, film producer, and screenwriter. She is well-known for her work in many movies, especially those made with her brother, the famous director Spike Lee.

Joie Lee has appeared in many films, often working with her brother, Spike Lee. Some of her early roles were in his movies like She's Gotta Have It (1986), School Daze (1988), Do the Right Thing (1989), and Mo' Better Blues (1990).

She also acted in films not directed by her brother, such as A Kiss Before Dying (1991). Later, she appeared in Summer of Sam (1999) and Coffee and Cigarettes (2003). More recently, she was in Farewell Amor (2020).

Writing and Producing

Besides acting, Joie Lee is also a talented writer and producer. She co-wrote and produced the movie Crooklyn (1994). In this film, she also played the role of Aunt Maxine.

TV Series Appearances

Joie Lee has also worked on television. She appeared in the TV series Rectify in 2016. From 2017 to 2019, she played Septima Darling in the TV series She's Gotta Have It, which was based on her brother's film. She also helped write for this series.
