Jonathan Windy Boy, born on August 28, 1958, is an American politician. He currently serves as a member of the Montana House of Representatives. Before this, he was a member of the Montana Senate from 2008 to 2016. He later ran for re-election as a Representative for District 32 and served in the 2021 session.

Jonathan Windy Boy's Political Career
In 2002, Jonathan Windy Boy was first elected to the Montana House of Representatives. He represented House District 32. This role involves making laws and decisions for the state of Montana.
Serving the Chippewa Cree Tribe
Since 1999, Mr. Windy Boy has been an important member of the Tribal Council for the Chippewa Cree Tribe. From 2008 to 2010, he was also elected as the Vice-chairman of the Chippewa Cree Tribe. This means he helped lead his tribal community.
He works full-time as a Tribal Historic Preservation Officer (THPO) for the Chippewa-Cree Tribe of Rocky Boy. In this role, he helps protect important historical and cultural sites for his tribe. He also works with businesses on a process called "section 106 consultation." This process helps make sure that new projects do not harm important historical places.
Supporting Education and Language
In 2012, he supported Sandy Welch, a Republican candidate, for State Superintendent of Education. This shows his interest in education.
In 2013, he introduced Montana Senate Bill 342. This bill set aside $2 million for a special program. This program, called the Montana Indian Language Preservation Pilot Program, helps Montana's eight tribes. It gives them money to create materials. These materials help keep their traditional languages alive for future generations.
