Jonell's Music Journey
Early Career and First Hit
Jonell started her music career in 2001. Her first well-known song was Round and Round. This song appeared on the album Hi-Teknology by producer Hi-Tek. A special version of Round and Round also featured the rapper Method Man. This version was included on the soundtrack for the movie How High.
Album Plans and Challenges
In 2003, Jonell planned to release her first album. It was going to be called Know Me. The album was set to be released by Def Soul Records, a record label. Her first song from this planned album was So Whassup. It featured a guest appearance by the rapper Redman.
However, the album Know Me was never officially released. It is sometimes called a "shelved" album, meaning it was completed but not put out for the public to buy. By 2005, Jonell's page on the Def Soul website was no longer available.
Later Efforts
Later in 2005, Jonell shared updates on a blog she created on MySpace. She mentioned that she was working on new music for another album. However, this album also did not come out.
