Jordan's Rugby Journey
Starting His Career
Jordan Cox made his first big game appearance for the Hull Kingston Rovers on May 8, 2011. This was in the 2011 Challenge Cup against York City Knights. He played really well in his first game, scoring two tries! After this great start, he played 6 more games in the Super League that year. His good performance even earned him a call-up to the England Knights squad. However, he had to miss out on that due to needing surgery after the season.
Overcoming Challenges
At the start of the 2012 season, Jordan became a regular player for the Hull Kingston Rovers. He played in 8 of the first 12 games. But in May, he faced a serious challenge. During an Under-20s game, he had a severe injury to his spleen. This meant he had to miss three months of the season. Everyone thought his season was over, but Jordan worked hard to recover. He made a quick comeback later that season against the Bradford Bulls.
Playing for Different Teams
Between 2013 and 2015, Jordan played for a few other teams on loan. These included Newcastle Thunder, Halifax, and the Huddersfield Giants. After these loan spells, he signed with the Warrington Wolves. He played 18 games for them in the Super League.
In January 2017, Jordan signed a one-year deal with the Sheffield Eagles. He played 9 games for them that year. Later in 2017, he joined York City Knights on a temporary loan. He scored a try in his very first game for them, helping his team win 28-18 against Workington Town. At the end of the 2017 season, Jordan left the Sheffield Eagles. His last team was Doncaster.
Personal Life
Jordan Cox passed away at his home in Hull on April 30, 2020. He was 27 years old.
