Jordan Rodrigues (born on July 20, 1992) is an actor and dancer from Australia. He is well-known for his role as Trey Emory in the Hulu TV series Light as a Feather. Jordan has also starred in other TV shows like Dance Academy, Home and Away, and The Fosters. He was also part of the main cast in National Treasure: Edge of History.
Early Life
Jordan Rodrigues was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. His parents are from Malaysia.
Becoming an Actor and Dancer
Jordan's first professional acting job was on stage. He played a young Simba in The Lion King musical. This was in Australia, starting in October 2003. He performed three times a week for two and a half years! Before this, he had no acting training.
After his time in The Lion King, Jordan trained for over ten years. He learned many dance styles like jazz, ballet, and hip hop. He also studied drama and singing.
In 2008, Jordan decided he wanted to act full-time. He joined an acting agency. He got roles in commercials and then auditioned for Home and Away. He played the character Jai Fernandez starting in March 2008. In 2009, he was nominated for an award for his role in Home and Away.
In 2009, Jordan got a main role in the ABC series Dance Academy. He played Christian Reed, one of the main characters. In 2013, he appeared in the Australian mini-series Better Man.
From 2014 to 2018, Jordan had a role in the ABC family show The Fosters. He played Mat, who was a bandmate and boyfriend to one of the main characters. In 2015, he was a guest star in an episode of Hawaii Five-0. He also starred in the movie Breaking Through. In 2017, he appeared in the film Lady Bird.
Starting in 2018, Jordan played Trey Emory. This was a main character in the Hulu series Light as a Feather. He also voiced the character Liu Kang in animated movies like Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge (2020) and Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms (2021). In 2022, he was in National Treasure: Edge of History.
