Jordi Sabatés started his music journey when he was young. He played in a folk-rock band called Pic-Nic. Folk-rock music mixes traditional folk sounds with rock music.
Later, he joined another band named Om. This band played progressive rock, which is a type of rock music that often has longer songs and uses different instruments and styles.
Jordi was also very good at creating music for movies. He wrote music for several films, especially documentaries. One famous documentary he worked on was Bola de Nieve, released in 2003.
In 1971, Jordi started his own music group called Jarka. A few years later, in 1973, he began working with another musician named Toti Soler.
