Jordi Sevilla facts for kids
Jordi Sevilla Segura is a Spanish politician and economist. He was born in Valencia, Spain on March 19, 1956. From 2018 to 2020, he was the chairman of the Red Eléctrica Group. Before that, he served as the Minister for Public Administration from 2004 to 2007.
Jordi Sevilla is married and has three children. He studied Economics at the University of Valencia. He is also part of a special group of senior trade advisors and economists for the Spanish government.

Jordi Sevilla's Career in Politics
Early Roles and Advisory Work
Jordi Sevilla started his career in government in 1985. For six years, until 1991, he worked as an advisor. He helped the Prime Minister of Spain with international economic relations. This means he gave advice on how Spain should work with other countries on money and trade.
From 1991 to 1993, he was the head of the office for the Minister of Agriculture, Pedro Solbes. He continued to work with Pedro Solbes from 1993 to 1996. During this time, he was the Director of the Office for the Minister of Economy and Finance. Later, from 1998 to 2000, he advised a group of politicians in the Spanish Parliament.
Serving in the Spanish Congress
In 2000, Jordi Sevilla was elected to the Spanish Congress. He represented the Castellon Province. He was re-elected two more times, in 2004 and 2008. While in Congress, he also served as the Secretary of Economic Policy. He was part of the main committee for the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party.
Becoming a Minister
After his party won the general election, Jordi Sevilla was chosen for an important role. On April 18, 2004, he became the Minister of Public Administration. This job meant he was in charge of how the government worked and managed its services. He held this position until July 6, 2007. After that, Elena Salgado, who was the Health Minister, took over his role.
In September 2008, Jordi Sevilla decided to leave his position in the Spanish Congress. He then started working for a company called PricewaterhouseCoopers.
