José Marín had a very successful career in racewalking, winning several medals. He competed in both 20-kilometer and 50-kilometer races.
European Championships
In 1982, José Marín had a fantastic year at the 1982 European Athletics Championships in Athens, Greece. He won a gold medal in the 20-kilometer racewalk. This was a huge achievement for him. He also earned a silver medal in the longer 50-kilometer racewalk at the same event.
World Championships
José Marín also did very well at the World Athletics Championships. In 1983, he won a silver medal in the 50-kilometer racewalk at the World Championships held in Helsinki, Finland. Later, in 1987, he added a bronze medal in the 20-kilometer racewalk at the World Championships in Rome, Italy.
