In 1978, Joy had a popular disco song. It was called "The Final Thing." This song was released in the United States. It was on the Atlantic Records label. The song was originally sung by Steve Bender. He was a member of the German disco group Dschinghis Khan.

Joy made another attempt in 2002. She sang "Joy to the World" with a group called Jambalaya. She finished as the runner-up again.
