Joyland is a fun amusement park located in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England. It's special because it's free to enter! This park first opened its doors in 1949. You can find it right next to the famous Britannia Pier.
Joyland is well-known for its unique rides, especially the Snails and the Tyrolean Tubs. These rides were designed by a clever engineer named Horace Cole. The Tyrolean Tubs ride is extra special. It's the only small "Virginia Reel" style roller coaster still working in the whole world!
Many of Joyland's rides are "heritage" rides. This means they have stayed almost the same for many years. Parents and even grandparents can share the rides they loved as kids with their own children. It's like a trip back in time!
The park has changed a bit over the years. In 1984, a big ride called "Noah's Ark" was replaced. A new space-themed ride called "Space Base" took its place. Later, in 1996, the "Space Base" was removed. It was replaced by the "Spook Express," a spooky roller coaster that winds around a big green mountain.

Joyland's Awesome Rides
Joyland has many exciting rides for everyone to enjoy. Here are some of the popular attractions you can find there:
Snails
The Snails ride opened with the park in 1949. It's a one-of-a-kind ride designed by Horace Cole. You travel in a snail-shaped car through a lovely garden. Along the way, you'll see fun things like garden gnomes, frogs, and a little pond.
Tyrolean Tubs
The Tyrolean Tubs also opened in 1949. You sit in a circular "tub" that spins and changes direction. The tubs wind through scenery that looks like mountains. It's a fun and surprising ride!
Jet Cars
The Jet Cars were added in the mid-1970s. On this ride, six jet-shaped cars travel on a circular track. The track goes inside the park's big mountain structure.
Neptune's Kingdom
Neptune's Kingdom is another themed ride from the mid-1970s. Riders travel inside the "Mountain" in a cool seahorse car. You'll see lots of sea and water-related decorations.
Pirate Ship
The Pirate Ship arrived in 1986. This classic ride swings back and forth. It goes up high and then down low, making it exciting for both kids and adults.
Major Orbit
Major Orbit was added in 1989. This is a circular ride with a space theme. It spins around and also tilts upwards, giving you a fun ride in the air.
Junior Ferris Wheel
Around 1990, the Junior Ferris Wheel joined the park. It's a small Ferris wheel that offers nice views. From the top, you can look out over Great Yarmouth Beach.
Skydiver
The Skydiver ride also came around 1990. In this enclosed ride, you spin high up in the air. It feels a bit like you're skydiving!
Spook Express
The Spook Express is a children's roller coaster from 1996. It travels around the top of the "Mountain." The coaster curves into a dark cave where spooky sounds play.
