Juan Miguel Villar Mir (born 30 September 1931 – died 6 July 2024) was a very successful Spanish businessman and a former politician. He was known for being the chairman and CEO of a big construction company called Obrascón Huarte Lain. He was also known as the 1st Marquess of Villar Mir, which is a special title.

Early Life and Education
Juan Miguel Villar Mir was born in Madrid, Spain, on 30 September 1931. He studied hard and earned a degree in industrial organisation. He also got a special doctorate degree in civil engineering, which is about designing and building things like roads and bridges.
His Career in Government
Villar Mir held important roles in the Spanish government.
- From December 1975 to July 1976, he was the Minister of Economy and Finance. This meant he was in charge of Spain's money and how the country's economy worked.
- In 1976, he also served as the Third Deputy Prime Minister of Spain for about six months. This was a very high position in the government, working closely with the Prime Minister. He was part of a political group during this time.
Building a Business Empire
Juan Miguel Villar Mir was very skilled at business.
- In the late 1980s, a construction company called Obrascón Huarte Lain (OHL) was in big trouble. It was almost going out of business.
- In 1987, Villar Mir bought the company for a very small amount of money. He then worked hard to make the company successful again.
- He managed to turn OHL's problems around. The company became strong and successful.
- In 1991, OHL was listed on the Bolsa de Madrid, which is Spain's stock exchange. This meant people could buy shares in the company.
- Villar Mir remained the chairman of OHL until he passed away.
- From 2013, he also served as a non-executive director for Santander, which is a large bank.

Juan Miguel Villar Mir was married and had three children. He lived in Madrid, Spain, for most of his life. His death was announced on 6 July 2024, when he was 92 years old.
