Important Roles and Titles
Juan de Moncada y de Tolça held many important positions during his lifetime. He was the 3rd Count of Marmilla and the 11th Lord (Sieur) of Aitona. In 1532, he became the 1st Count of Aitona. He was also the Baron of Serós, Mequinenza, and Soses, and the Lord of Vallobar, Palma, Ador, and Beniarche. He was also the 3rd Baron of Llagostera.
He served as the Great Seneschal and "Maestre Racional" of Catalunya. These were important government jobs. In 1529, he became the "Maestro Giustiziere" for the Kingdom of Naples and the Kingdom of Sicily. This role was like a chief justice. Later, on December 20, 1535, he became the "Presidente del Regno" (President of the Kingdom) of Sicily. From January 12, 1536, he was also the Captain General of Sicily, working under the viceroy Ferrante Gonzaga.

His first wife was Giovanna La Grua. She was the daughter of Giovanni Vincenzo La Grua, who was the lord of Carini and Misilmeri. Giovanna passed away in Carini in 1517. Her mother was Elisabetta Bracco e Calvello.

- Isabel de Moncada: She married Giovanni II Ventimiglia, 6th Marquis of Geraci in 1527.
Second Marriage
His second wife was Ana de Cardona. She was the daughter of Fernando Ramon Folch, 2nd Duke of Cardona. Her mother was Francisca Manrique de Lara, who was the sister of Antonio Manrique de Lara, 2nd Duke of Nájera.

- Francisco de Moncada y Cardona, 1st marquis of Aitona: He became the 1st Marquis of Aitona in 1581. He married Lucrecia Gralla in 1560.
