Jukka Lemmetty is a talented Finnish artist. He writes and draws for children's books. He also creates pictures for school textbooks and other helpful books.

About Jukka Lemmetty

Jukka Lemmetty was born in 1951. His hometown is Kouvola, Finland. He went to school in Rovaniemi, also in Finland. Later, he studied art at two famous schools. These were the Finnish and Munich Academies of Fine Art.

Jukka worked as a painter until 1980. Then, a company called Weilin and Göös asked him to draw for their books. Since then, he has drawn pictures for many children's books. He also illustrated school textbooks. One well-known series is the Happy ABC textbooks. These books have been used in Finnish schools for a long time. Jukka Lemmetty has also written several children's books himself.

His Children's Books

Jukka Lemmetty created a popular series about a dog named Alpo. These books are published by Tammi Publishing Company. So far, two Alpo books have been released. The first was "Alpo finds Home" in 2010. The second was "Alpo finds Alma" in 2011. The "Alpo finds Alma" story was even made into an e-book app. You can read it on smartphones and tablets.

In 2011, Jukka Lemmetty drew the pictures for "Ware Bears in Space". This book was written by Hannele Huovi.

He also illustrated books about a well-known character called Histamiini. Histamiini is famous from TV shows and books by Raili Mikkanen. Jukka Lemmetty illustrated two Histamiini books. These include "Histamiini saves Christmas" (2001) and "Histamiini builds a raft" (2003).
