Julian Wheeler was born on April 22, 1971. He is an American former professional boxer. He competed in boxing from 1993 to 2002. Julian Wheeler won important titles during his career. These include the WBC Continental Americas super featherweight and USBA lightweight championships.
Amateur Career
Julian Wheeler had a strong start in amateur boxing. In 1992, he became the United States Amateur Featherweight Champion. This was a big achievement for him.
He also qualified for the United States Olympic Team in 1992. He competed as a featherweight at the Olympic Trials. He then went on to represent his country at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games. In the Olympics, he lost a close match on points to Ramazan Palyani.
In 1993, he once again won the United States Amateur Featherweight Champion title. Later that year, he competed at the World Championships in Finland.

Chasing Major Titles
Wheeler won his first 11 fights. This was a great start to his professional journey. In 1995, he fought Robert Garcia for the NABF Super Featherweight title. This is an important championship in North America. Wheeler did not win this fight.
