Kōhei Matsushita (松下 幸平, Matsushita Kōhei, born July 24, 1985) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a defender, a position where players help protect their team's goal. Matsushita was known for his precise passes from the left side of the field. He played for teams in Japan and also in the United States.

Starting Out in Japan
Kōhei Matsushita began his football path at Shizuoka Gakuen High School. In 2002, his high school team won the All Japan High School Championship. Matsushita was also named one of the "Best 11" players that year.
After high school, he joined Júbilo Iwata. He played for their younger teams, including the U-18, U-19, and U-23 squads. In 2006, he went to Ehime FC for a short time, which is called a "loan spell." This means he played for Ehime FC temporarily while still belonging to Júbilo Iwata.
In 2007, Matsushita officially moved to Ehime FC. He became a very important player for them. He played for Ehime FC for three seasons.
Playing in the United States
In 2011, Kōhei Matsushita decided to try playing football in another country. He went to an open tryout for the Atlanta Silverbacks. This team plays in the North American Soccer League in the United States.
Matsushita successfully joined the team. He became the first Japanese player ever to sign with the Atlanta Silverbacks. He played his first game for them on April 16, 2011, against FC Edmonton. The team announced that he would return for the 2012 season.
Playing Style and Inspiration
Kōhei Matsushita mostly played on the left side of the field. He was known for his very accurate passes, called "pinpoint crosses." These passes are important for setting up scoring chances for his teammates. His idol player, someone he looked up to, was Cafu. Cafu was a famous player from the Brazil National Team.
