Kōtō facts for kids
Kōtō (pronounced Koh-toh) is one of the 23 special areas that make up the big city of Tokyo, Japan. Think of these special areas like big neighborhoods or small cities within Tokyo. In 2015, about 498,109 people lived in Kōtō. It's a busy and interesting part of Japan's capital city!
Kōtō was officially created on March 15, 1947. It was formed by joining two older areas called Fukagawa and Jōtō. This brought together different communities to form the Kōtō we know today.
