KANA-BOON facts for kids
KANA-BOON is a cool rock band from Japan! They started in Osaka and now they live and work in Tokyo. They officially began their music career in 2013. Since then, they've released many mini CDs and albums. Lots of people love their music, not just in Japan but all around the world!

Band Members
When KANA-BOON first started, there were four members. They had a singer who also played rhythm guitar, a lead guitarist, a bass guitarist, and a drummer. Now, KANA-BOON is a three-person band because some members have left.
Current Members
- Maguro Taniguchi is the lead singer and plays the rhythm guitar.
- Hayato Koga plays the lead guitar.
- Takahiro Koizumi plays the drums.
Previous Members
- Hiroaki Hirose used to play the bass guitar.
- Yuma Meshida also played the bass guitar.
Band History
KANA-BOON was formed way back in 2006 when the members were still in high school!
After they finished high school, they started working seriously as a band in 2010.
In 2011, Hiroaki Hirose, who played bass, left the band, and Yuma Meshida joined.
A big moment happened in April 2012: they won a huge music audition! They were chosen as the best out of 4000 other bands.
In 2013, they made their "major debut" with a music company called Ki/oon Music. This means they officially became a big-name band!
Yuma Meshida left KANA-BOON in 2018.
Music Releases
KANA-BOON has released a lot of music over about seven years since their debut. They even put out their own songs before they officially debuted! Here are some of their well-known works:

Cool Collaborations
KANA-BOON has also worked with some popular Japanese animated shows, often creating their opening theme songs! Here are a few examples:
- Silhouette (This was the opening theme for Naruto: Hurricane Chronicles)
- Fighter (This was the opening theme for MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS)
- Baton Road (This was the opening theme for Boruto: Naruto Next Generation)
- Star Marker (This was the opening theme for My Hero Academia)
- Torch of Liberty (This was the opening theme for Fire Force)
Lately, almost every time they release a new song, it's used in a Japanese animated show! Their songs have also been featured in TV commercials, video games, and movies.
Live Concerts
Since their major debut, KANA-BOON has held many exciting concerts.
In 2014, they had their own concerts in nine different places across Japan, from May 17th to June 21st.
They also held a big outdoor concert in Izumiotsu city, Osaka, in 2014.
In 2015, 2016, and 2017, they released new albums (TIME, Origin, and NAMiDA) and went on concert tours in many parts of Japan. In 2016, they even held a concert in a foreign country for the very first time!
In 2018, they went on another tour, performing in prefectures all over Japan and also in Taiwan.
In 2019, they didn't hold as many concerts because a member left the band.
Even with the COVID-19 situation in 2020, they found ways to perform! They held online concerts and joined other online music events to keep sharing their music with fans.
