Kaede Dobashi (土橋 楓, Dobashi Kaede, born 11 January 1996), known professionally as Kaede (楓, Kaede), is a Japanese dancer, singer, model, and actress. She works with LDH. Kaede is a member of the J-pop girl group f5ve. She was also a member of the popular girl group E-girls and its dance unit Happiness. Besides music, Kaede is a special model for the fashion magazine CanCam.

About Kaede's Early Life

Kaede was born on January 11, 1996. Her hometown is Yokosuka, a city in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. She has a younger brother and a younger sister.

She started dancing when she was in fourth grade. Kaede went to a dance school in Yokosuka. There, she learned from Exile's Tetsuya. Later, she joined the Exile Professional Gym (EXPG) in Tokyo. This was during her first year of junior high school. After that, she performed as a background dancer. She appeared in Exile's events, music videos, and tours.

Kaede's Career Journey

Starting with Happiness and E-girls

In October 2008, a new dance group called Happiness was formed. Its members were graduates from EXPG. Kaede was chosen to be one of the dancers. She began her activities using the name KAEDE.

Kaede started her modeling career in March 2011. Her first appearance was in the fashion magazine Glamorous. Happiness officially debuted with their song "Kiss Me" on February 9. In April, Kaede and other Happiness members also joined E-girls. This meant they would be part of both groups at the same time.

On June 3, 2013, she changed her stage name from KAEDE to Kaede (楓). In July, Kaede became an exclusive model for CanCam magazine. Her first feature was in its September issue.

Acting and Magazine Covers

In January 2014, Kaede started acting. She appeared in the Nippon TV series A Perfect Day for Love Letters. Other E-girls members were also in the show. Later that year, she had her first solo acting role. This was in the drama Shark: 2nd Season.

Kaede was featured on the cover of CanCam's June issue in April 2015. This was a big moment for her. It was her first time on a magazine cover by herself. It was also the first time an E-girls member appeared alone on a women's magazine cover. Since then, she has been on the cover of CanCam many times.

On August 29, 2017, she released her first photo book. It was titled Nee, Kiite!!.

Recent Activities

On March 1, 2019, Kaede, Ruri, and Sayaka became ambassadors for DeNA's YOKOHAMA GIRLS☆FESTIVAL 2019. This event took place from May 31 to June 2. Kaede even threw the first pitch at a baseball game on the festival's first day.

On April 23, 2019, Kaede was chosen for advertisements for Mister Donut. She joined Harumi Sato, Nozomi Bando, and Nonoka Yamaguchi. They promoted the new Tapioca Drink called "Tap！Tap！Tapioca！". On September 1 of the same year, Kaede announced a special project. She collaborated with the fashion brand Hash feat.#F. Together, they released a collection of designer phone cases.

Kaede's Personal Life

Kaede is the tallest member of Happiness. She is 1.68 meters (about 5 feet 6 inches) tall. In E-girls, she was the second tallest. Harumi Sato (Flower) was taller at 1.73 meters (about 5 feet 8 inches). Because they were both tall models, fans gave them the nickname Twin Tower. Kaede and Harumi also worked together in the show Aoyama One Seg Kaihatsu.
