Kalininskaya Line facts for kids
The Kalininskaya Line is an important part of the Moscow Metro system. It's also known as Line 8 and is easy to spot because its color is yellow! This line was built especially for the 1980 Moscow Olympics, helping people get around the city during the big sports event.
The first section of the line opened in 1979. This part connected the stations from Marksistskaya to Novogireevo and was about 11.4 kilometers long. Later, in 1986, the line was extended further, connecting Marksistskaya to Tretyakovskaya.
