Early Life and Learning
Kamini Pather was born in Mobeni Heights, a part of Durban, South Africa. Her parents are Rajen and Anitha. She grew up in Glenwood, another area in Durban. Kamini also has a younger brother named Neelan.
She went to Durban Girls' College for school. Later, she studied at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. There, she earned a degree in Marketing and Management. She also has a diploma from a business school and is qualified in yoga.

Starting with Food Blogs
Kamini Pather began her career by writing for a magazine called Aficionado. In 2008, she started her very own food blog. It was first named Deelishuss.
In 2012, she worked for an online food magazine called CRUSH. The next year, in 2013, she was a food assistant for the well-known chef Siba Mtongana. Kamini has also worked on radio shows. She has been on 2oceansvibe Radio, Good Hope FM, and Heart 104.9 FM.
Winning MasterChef
A big moment for Kamini was in 2013. She won the second season of MasterChef South Africa. This made her a well-known chef across the country.
Girl Eat World TV Show
After MasterChef, Kamini hosted and produced a food and travel show. It was called Girl Eat World. She worked with Lucky Bean Media to create it.
Filming for the show happened in 2014. Kamini traveled for nine weeks. She visited 10 different cities around the world. In each city, she met local food bloggers. The show first aired on SABC 3 in May 2015. It was also shown in other countries. In 2016, Girl Eat World won an award. It received a SAFTA for Best Magazine Show.
Other Ventures
Kamini Pather also ran the 2016 Cape Town Marathon. She appeared as a guest judge on another cooking show, Top Chef South Africa.
In 2017, Kamini launched her own line of kitchen products. She called it Kitchen Kulture. In 2018, she worked with a South African meal kit service called UCOOK. Later, she launched her own plant-based food service. It was called Füdy and delivered meals through UberEats SA.
