Karalundi is a special Aboriginal community in Western Australia. It's about 60 kilometers north of Meekatharra. This community is part of the Shire of Meekatharra in the Mid West region.
Land and Native Title
Karalundi is located on land that is part of a native title claim. This claim was made by the Wajarri Yamatji people. Native title means that Aboriginal people have special rights to their traditional lands and waters. These rights come from their traditional laws and customs.
Education for Students
Children who live in Karalundi go to the Karalundi Aboriginal Education Community campus. This school teaches students from kindergarten up to Year 10. All the students at this school live there during the school term. They are called boarders. When school holidays begin, students return to their own communities.
