Early Life and Training
Karen LeBlanc grew up in Tottenham, Ontario, Canada. Her family came from Nova Scotia. She loved performing and studied musical theatre at Sheridan College. This helped her prepare for a career in acting and singing.
Acting Career
Starting Out in TV and Film
Karen LeBlanc began her acting journey in 1992. One of her first roles was in the TV movie Split Images. She also appeared in the TV series Material World from 1992 to 1993.
She later appeared in the 2000 fantasy-comedy film Santa Who?, which starred Leslie Nielsen. Karen also acted in several TV movies. These included Snap Decision (2001), Guilt by Association (2002), and Lucky Day (2002). Other TV movies she was in were Martha: Behind Bars (2005), Knights of the South Bronx (2005), and Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome (2012).
Stage and Music Work
Besides TV and movies, Karen LeBlanc has also performed on stage. She has appeared in popular musicals like Outrageous!, Rent, and Cinderella.
She is also a talented singer. Karen has performed as a backing vocalist for famous musicians. These include Chaka Khan, Rik Emmett, and Glass Tiger.

In 2006, Karen LeBlanc starred in the drama series Runaway. She was nominated for a Gemini Awards in 2008. This was for her role in the TV show ReGenesis.
In 2009, Karen received great reviews for her role in the drama film Nurse.Fighter.Boy. She was even nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for Best Actress for this movie. Other films she appeared in include Make It Happen (2008) and Dolan's Cadillac (2009).
She has had many regular roles in TV series. Some of these include Defying Gravity (2009), Soul (2009), and Shattered (2010–11). She also starred in Cracked (2013), Insomnia (2018), and Frontier (2017–18). More recently, she was in Ransom (2018-19).
Karen also had recurring roles in shows like Motive, Trailer Park Boys and Killjoys. In 2021, she starred in the second season of the series Departure. In 2022, she appeared in The Kings of Napa and played Dr. Lilly Crawford in CBS's Fire Country.
In 2022, she was nominated for another Canadian Screen Awards. This was for her lead performance in the web series For the Record.
