Growing Up in San Francisco
Karim Mayfield was born on December 14, 1980, in San Francisco, California. He grew up in a well-known area of the city called the Fillmore District. Karim has three brothers and two sisters. His mother is an entrepreneur, which means she runs her own businesses, and his father works as an electrician.
Starting His Boxing Journey
From Football to Boxing
Before he became a boxer, Karim Mayfield was a football player. He played as a running back in school. He found boxing a bit later in life, when he was 20 years old. A new boxing gym opened near his home, and he decided to check it out.
