Katherine Boyer Waterston (born March 3, 1980) is an actress from both Britain and America. She first appeared in a major film called Michael Clayton in 2007.
Katherine has played important roles in many movies. These include Inherent Vice (2014) and Steve Jobs (2015). She is perhaps best known for playing Tina Goldstein in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movies. She also appeared in Alien: Covenant (2017) and Logan Lucky (2017).

Katherine Boyer Waterston was born on March 3, 1980. Her birthplace was Westminster, London, England. Her parents, Lynn Louisa and Sam Waterston, were American. Her father is a well-known actor.
Katherine has dual citizenship, meaning she is a citizen of both the United Kingdom and the United States. Her father's family comes from Scotland. She has a sister, Elisabeth Waterston, who is also an actress. Her brother, Graham Waterston, is a director. She also has an older half-brother, James Waterston, who acts too.
Katherine grew up in Connecticut, in the United States. She finished high school at the Loomis Chaffee School in 1998.
Career
Katherine Waterston's first main role in a movie was in 2007. It was an independent drama called The Babysitters. She acted alongside John Leguizamo and Cynthia Nixon in this film.
She also performed in plays during this time. In 2007, she was in a play called Los Angeles. The next year, she acted in Kindness. In 2010, she played Gena in an Off-Broadway play called Bachelorette. She also performed in The Cherry Orchard and Dreams of Flying, Dreams of Falling in 2011.

After taking on smaller roles in films like Being Flynn (2012), Katherine got a big part. This was in the 2014 crime film Inherent Vice. The movie and her acting received good reviews from critics.
The next year, she appeared in Queen of Earth. She also played Chrisann Brennan in the movie Steve Jobs. This film was about the life of Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple.
In 2016, Katherine was chosen for a major role. She played Tina Goldstein in the fantasy film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. She starred with Eddie Redmayne in this movie. The film was very popular and earned a lot of money worldwide.
Katherine played Tina Goldstein again in the sequels. These were Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018) and Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022). In 2017, she also starred in the science fiction horror film Alien: Covenant. That same year, she was in the comedy-drama Logan Lucky and the historical drama The Current War.
More recently, Katherine has appeared in other independent films. These include Mid90s (2018) and The World to Come (2020). In 2020, she also starred in a British-American TV series called The Third Day. In 2022, she joined the cast of the TV show Perry Mason.
Personal life
Katherine Waterston was in a relationship with playwright and director Adam Rapp for six years.
In 2018, Katherine shared that she was going to have a baby. Her son was born in 2019.
Katherine Waterston supports transgender rights. She has spoken out about this, especially because of her work in the Fantastic Beasts movies. She has publicly disagreed with some statements made by the series creator, J.K. Rowling.
