Kazuhito Tanaka (田中 和仁, Tanaka Kazuhito, born 16 May 1985) is a famous Japanese gymnast. He was born on May 16, 1985. Kazuhito is known for winning a silver medal at the Olympic Games. He also won three medals at the World Championships. His younger sister, Rie Tanaka, and brother, Yusuke Tanaka, are also professional gymnasts.

Kazuhito Tanaka's Gymnastics Career

Kazuhito Tanaka's first big international competition was the 2009 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. He performed very well in the individual all-around event. He finished fourth, just missing a medal. However, he won a bronze medal in the parallel bars final. This was a fantastic start to his career.

World Championships Success

In 2010, Kazuhito competed at the 2010 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. He helped the Japanese team win a silver medal. He scored well on the still rings, parallel bars, and high bar. The next year, at the 2011 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, his team won another silver medal. He showed strong performances on the parallel bars and high bar again. He also reached the parallel bars final, finishing eighth.

Competing at the 2012 London Olympics

At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, Kazuhito competed on all six gymnastics events. He qualified for the individual all-around final. He also made it to the parallel bars final. His brother Yusuke also qualified for the parallel bars final.

In the team final, Kazuhito helped the Japanese team win a silver medal. He performed on the floor, pommel horse, parallel bars, and high bar. In the individual all-around final, Kazuhito was close to winning a medal. He was in second place before the last event. However, a mistake on the pommel horse caused him to drop to sixth place. Even so, his overall score was much better than in the qualification round. In the parallel bars final, he again just missed a medal, finishing fourth.
