Kazuya Maeda (前田 和也, Maeda Kazuya, born January 8, 1984) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a defender during his career. Maeda was born in Sano, Tochigi, Japan, in 1984.

Kazuya Maeda's Football Journey
Starting His Professional Career
Kazuya Maeda began his football journey after finishing high school. In 2002, he joined FC Tokyo, a team in the J1 League. The J1 League is Japan's top professional football league. He made his first appearance in April of that year. Maeda played in a few matches as a defensive midfielder and a right-side defender.
Loan and Return to FC Tokyo
In October 2003, Maeda went on loan to Sagawa Printing. This team played in the Japan Football League, which is another professional league in Japan. He played in many games there. In 2004, he returned to FC Tokyo. He played a few more matches as a right-side defender. However, he didn't get to play much for FC Tokyo until 2006.
Moving to Montedio Yamagata
In June 2006, Maeda moved to Montedio Yamagata. This club was part of the J2 League, which is Japan's second-highest professional football league. He played as both a right and left-side defender for them. Still, he didn't get a lot of playing time with Montedio Yamagata.
Becoming a Regular Player
In 2008, Kazuya Maeda joined his local team, Hitachi Tochigi Uva. This club was in the Japanese Regional Leagues, which are lower-level leagues. Here, Maeda became a regular player, meaning he played in most of the team's games. His strong play helped the club get promoted to the Japan Football League in 2010.
