Kazuya Maeda (前田 和也, Maeda Kazuya, born January 8, 1984) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a defender.
Playing Career
Kazuya Maeda was born in Sano, Japan, on January 8, 1984. After finishing high school, he joined FC Tokyo in 2002. This club plays in the J1 League, which is Japan's top football league.
Maeda made his first appearance in April 2002. He played in a few games as a defensive midfielder and a right-side defender. However, he did not play much after the summer of 2002.
In October 2003, he moved to Sagawa Printing. This club was part of the Japan Football League, a lower division. He played in many matches for them.
In 2004, Maeda went back to FC Tokyo. He played a few more games as a right-side defender. Still, he did not get to play regularly until 2006.
In June 2006, he joined Montedio Yamagata. This team played in the J2 League, which is the second division. He played as both a right and left-side defender. However, he still did not play in many games.
In 2008, Maeda moved to a local club called Hitachi Tochigi Uva. This team was in the Japanese Regional Leagues. He became a regular player for them. The club later changed its name to Tochigi Uva FC.
His team was promoted to the Japan Football League in 2010. Maeda played a lot in 2010 and 2011. In 2012, he started playing less often. He decided to retire from football at the end of the 2013 season.
