Keiji Watanabe started his football journey in high school. He played for Numazu Gakuen High School from 2000 to 2002. This was where he began to develop his skills as a defender.
Early Professional Career
After high school, Keiji Watanabe joined his first professional club. He signed with Nagoya Grampus in 2003. This team plays in the J1 League, which is Japan's top football league. He played for Nagoya Grampus for several seasons, from 2003 to 2008. During his time there, he gained valuable experience playing against some of the best teams in Japan.
