Keith Anthony Staten was born on January 25, 1964, in Detroit, Michigan. His father was a pastor, which means Keith grew up around church music and faith. This early experience helped shape his love for gospel music.
Music Journey
Before starting his solo career, Keith Staten was the lead singer for a well-known gospel group called Commissioned. He sang with them from 1982 until 1990.
In 1990, Keith decided to start his own music journey. His very first solo album, From the Heart, was released on August 21, 1990. This album was a big success! It reached No. 25 on the Billboard magazine Gospel Albums chart, which tracks the most popular gospel music.
He released another album, No Greater Love, in 1995. While it was a great album, it didn't appear on the music charts.
