Kelly M. Alexander Jr. (born October 17, 1948 – died September 6, 2024) was an American politician. He was a member of the Democratic Party. He served in the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing the 107th district. During his time in office, he was one of many African American leaders in the North Carolina House.

Kelly Alexander Jr. came from a family deeply involved in civil rights. His father, Kelly Alexander Sr., was a leader of the NAACP. His uncle, Frederick Alexander, was also a well-known civil rights activist. Kelly Alexander Jr. continued his family's legacy of public service. He passed away on September 6, 2024, at the age of 75.

Early Life and Education

Kelly Alexander Jr. grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. He went to West Charlotte High School. After high school, he attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There, he earned degrees in both science and public administration.

After finishing college, Kelly Alexander Jr. returned to Charlotte. He took over the management of the Alexander Funeral Home, a family business. He also shared his knowledge by teaching classes at several local colleges. These included Central Piedmont Community College, Johnson C. Smith University, Queens University of Charlotte, and University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
