Kenwood, Missouri facts for kids
Kenwood is a small place in Knox County, Missouri. It's known as an unincorporated community. This means it's not a city or town with its own local government. Instead, it's part of the wider county area.
Discovering Kenwood's Past
Kenwood began a long time ago, in 1889. It was named to honor someone important from the railroad. Imagine, back then, railroads were super important for travel and sending goods!
Just a year later, in 1890, a post office opened in Kenwood. This was a big deal! It meant people could send and receive letters and packages right there. The post office served the community for many years, finally closing its doors in 1936.
