The community of Khedive got its name from a royal title. This title, "Khedive," was used in the Middle East. It was similar to a prince or governor.
A post office was opened in Khedive in 1882. This was an important place for people to send and receive mail. The Khedive post office served the community for many years. However, it closed down in 1934.
