Early Life and Music Beginnings
Ki Daophet Nouhouang was born on July 1, 1972. His hometown was Na Wang Village in Khammouane Province, Laos. He grew up with three brothers and sisters.
His music journey began in 1994. His siblings started a Luk thung band called Num Kosin. This band quickly became very popular across Laos. By 1997, Ki Daophet decided to start his own career as a solo singer.
Rise to Fame and Hit Songs
Ki Daophet became widely known in 2001. This was thanks to his studio album called Nam Ta Kway. This album featured several popular songs. Some of these hits included Nam Ta Kway, Muei Tha, and Jee Hoy.
The song Jee Hoy was especially famous. A Thai singer named Pee Saderd later covered it. Pee Saderd was known for mixing Mor lam and rock music. His version of Jee Hoy became a huge hit.
Later Life and Passing
Ki Daophet Nouhouang continued to perform and create music. He was a beloved figure in Laotian music. Sadly, he passed away on April 24, 2020. He was 47 years old at the time. His death was caused by kidney failure.
