Kikuō Hayashiya, born Hiroshi Toyota on October 19, 1937, is a famous Japanese performer. He is best known as a rakugoka, which means he is a traditional Japanese storyteller and comedian. He is also a popular member of the long-running TV comedy show Shōten.
Kikuō Hayashiya was the first person to use the stage name Kikuzō Hayashiya. Later, his son, Kikuo Hayashiya, took over that name. On the show Shōten, Kikuō Hayashiya always wears a bright yellow kimono. He is famous for telling simple jokes and often acts silly to make people laugh.
