Kim Johnson was born on August 25, 1966. She is a British politician from the Labour Party. Since 2019, she has been a Member of Parliament (MP) for Liverpool Riverside. An MP is someone elected to represent people in the UK Parliament.
Kim Johnson's Early Life and Work
Kim Johnson was born in Liverpool, England. She studied Youth and Community Work, Social Studies, and also earned a Postgraduate Certificate.
Before becoming an MP, Kim Johnson worked to help her community. She was the Chairperson of Squash Liverpool, a group that helps the community. In 2020, she became a patron of Mandela8, which is another community organization.
She also worked as a representative for a trade union called Unison. A trade union helps workers with their rights and conditions. She also helped with Liverpool's bid to become the Capital of Culture.
Kim Johnson's Role in Parliament
In November 2019, Kim Johnson was chosen to be the Labour Party candidate for Liverpool Riverside. This is the area she would represent in Parliament.
At the general election in 2019, she was elected as the MP for Liverpool Riverside. She won with a large number of votes.
