Kim Weston (born December 20, 1939) is an American soul singer. She is famous for her hit songs in the 1960s, like "Love Me All the Way" and "Take Me in Your Arms (Rock Me a Little While)". She also sang a very popular duet with Marvin Gaye called "It Takes Two".

Kim Weston's Music Journey
Kim Weston was born Agatha Nathalia Weston in Detroit, Michigan, USA. She started her music career with Motown Records in 1961. Her first small hit was "Love Me All the Way". This song became popular after a radio DJ liked it a lot.
Big Hits at Motown
Kim Weston had several big solo hits while at Motown. One of her most famous songs was "Take Me in Your Arms (Rock Me a Little While)". Many other artists later sang their own versions of this song. Another popular song was "Helpless".
In 1966, Kim Weston teamed up with Marvin Gaye for the song "It Takes Two". This song was a huge success! It was so popular that Motown decided to have Marvin Gaye sing more duets with other artists. Kim Weston is also known for her recording of the "Black National Anthem," called "Lift Every Voice and Sing".
After Motown Records
Kim Weston left Motown in 1967. She had some disagreements with the company about the money she earned from her music. She and her husband, William "Mickey" Stevenson, then moved to Los Angeles. They started working with MGM Records.
At MGM, Kim Weston released an album called This Is America. This album included her well-known version of "Lift Every Voice and Sing". The money from this song was given to the United Negro College Fund, which helps students go to college. She also recorded albums with other record labels, like Stax/Volt. She even made an album of songs with Johnny Nash.
Kim Weston also appeared on The Bill Cosby Show in 1971. Later, she moved to Israel for a time, where she worked with young singers.
Later Career and Awards
In the 1980s, Kim Weston joined Ian Levine's Motorcity Records. She released a song called "Signal Your Intention," which became a number one hit on a special music chart in the UK. She also released an album called Investigate in 1990. This album had new songs and new versions of her old Motown hits.
In August 2013, Kim Weston was honored. She was inducted into the first group of artists in the Official Rhythm & Blues Music Hall of Fame. This special event took place at Cleveland State University.
