Starting His Football Journey

Before becoming a professional, Kim Yeong-gi played football in college. From 2003 to 2006, he was part of the team at Momoyama Gakuin University. This is where he developed his skills as a goalkeeper.

Playing for Shonan Bellmare

Kim Yeong-gi started his professional career in 2007. He joined a Japanese club called Shonan Bellmare. He played for this team for six years, until 2012. During his time there, he played in 94 league games. Most of these games were in the J2 League, which is Japan's second-highest football division.

Other Teams and Later Career

After leaving Shonan Bellmare, Kim Yeong-gi moved to Oita Trinita in 2013. Later that year, he was loaned to another team, Avispa Fukuoka. He did not play any league games for either of these clubs.

From 2014 to 2016, he played for Nagano Parceiro. This team competes in the J3 League, which is a lower division in Japan. He played only one league game for Nagano Parceiro.
