In a memorable match in 1983, Parsons was part of a big storyline. He was involved in a match where a flamethrower was used. This led to a storyline injury for Parsons. He almost won the NWA American Tag Team Championship. This was when he teamed with Brian Adias.

Parsons was also known for his amazing talking skills. He had many cool catchphrases. Some of them were "rooty poot" and "Hubba Bubba, not a speck of trubba." He also used to say, "Like Momma says, it be's that way sometimes -- have mercy!"
