The Story of Kiolbassa Sausages
The Kiolbassa company was founded in 1949 by Rufus and Juanita Kiolbassa. They started their business on the west side of San Antonio, Texas. Even today, the sausages are still made in the same city! When they first began, the company was called the Kiolbassa Provision Company.
Rufus Kiolbassa passed away in 1960. His wife, Juanita, and their three children took over the company. Their son, Robert, decided to leave college to help run the family business. He became the leader of the company in 1960.
Later, in 1987, Robert's son, Michael, joined the company. Michael became the president of Kiolbassa in 2021, after his father Robert passed away. Under Michael's leadership, Kiolbassa has grown a lot. It has become the top company for premium sausages in Texas!
