Early Life and Baking Dreams

Kirsten Tibballs was born in Leongatha, Victoria, and grew up in Pearcedale. From a young age, she loved baking. When she was just 12 years old, Kirsten entered cake-making and pastry contests at the Dandenong Show.

She began her journey as a pastry chef by starting an apprenticeship at a small patisserie in Mornington. At 20, Kirsten joined the Sheraton Towers Hotel in Melbourne. Two years later, she won a special award called the National Australian Baking Scholarship Award. This award allowed her to travel to Europe and work with top pastry chefs in Brussels and Paris.

Kirsten Tibballs is a special ambassador for Bulla Family Dairy. She is also the only global ambassador for the famous Belgian chocolate brand, Callebaut.

Savour Chocolate and Patisserie School

In 2002, Kirsten Tibballs opened her own school, Savour Chocolate and Patisserie School. She noticed that Australia's pastry and chocolate scene was not as advanced as Europe's. So, she wanted to create a place where Australian chefs could learn advanced skills without having to travel overseas. The school teaches many different classes about making delicious chocolate and patisserie (fancy pastries).

In 2013, Kirsten made her school even bigger by launching an online platform. This platform offers video lessons for people all over the world. By 2024, the Savour online platform had more than 550 different classes!

Mix n’ Make App

In June 2017, Kirsten Tibballs launched her first app called Mix n’ Make. This fun game lets users create their own unique recipes and flavor combinations for éclairs, tarts, and macarons. After creating their treats, users can even download a recipe book of their own special creations.

Television Appearances

Kirsten Tibballs has appeared on MasterChef Australia many times. She was on two episodes of Series 5, one episode of Series 7, and two episodes of Series 9. In one of these episodes, the season finale, she showed off her amazing 'Trio of Fruits' dessert. She also appeared in one episode of Series 10.

Kirsten has also been a guest several times on Everyday Gourmet with Justine Schofield. This cooking show is hosted by Justine Schofield, who was a contestant on the very first season of MasterChef Australia.
