Pop Max is a TV channel in the United Kingdom made just for kids! It's owned by Sony Pictures Television. This channel is free-to-air, which means you don't need to pay extra to watch it.
Pop Max shows lots of fun cartoons, exciting sci-fi shows, and action-packed adventure series. It's especially popular with boys aged 7 to 12. Before it was called Pop Max, it had other names like Kix! and then just Kix.
History of Kix Power and Kix +1
In July 2013, the channel, then known as Kix, launched a special version called Kix Power. This channel only showed episodes of Power Rangers. Kix Power took the place of another channel called Pop Girl +1 on Sky.
Later, in October 2013, Kix Power was replaced by Kix +1. This was a "timeshift" channel. A timeshift channel shows the same programs as the main channel, but an hour later. This is helpful if you miss a show!
Kix Power and Kix +1 often swapped places. Kix Power would sometimes come back for short periods, especially around big school holidays. This way, kids could watch lots of Power Rangers when they were off school!
In April 2014, Kix +1 was relaunched as Kix +. However, it closed down in July 2014. In October 2014, the main Kix channel even changed its name to Kix Power for the October half-term break. Kix +1 returned in October 2015. But in June 2016, it was removed from Freesat. Finally, in December 2016, Kix Power became available on Virgin Media.
