Knothead and Splinter facts for kids
Knothead and Splinter are the fun-loving nephew and niece of the famous cartoon character Woody Woodpecker. They are known for their playful adventures and often help Woody out of tricky situations.
Knothead and Splinter first appeared in a cartoon called Get Lost!. Before their cartoon debut, they were in the New Funnies comic books. Back then, Knothead was named Nuthead, and Splinter was actually a boy! But in 1949, Nuthead became Knothead, and Splinter became a girl.
In the late 1950s, Knothead and Splinter became very popular. They appeared in both animated cartoons and comic books. They also showed up in The New Woody Woodpecker Show much later.

Knothead and Splinter's very first cartoon was Get Lost!. In this cartoon, they use their cleverness to outsmart a not-so-smart cat. The cat's voice was provided by Don Messick, another well-known voice actor.
