Koharik Gazarossian facts for kids
Koharik Gazarossian (also known as Goharik Łazarosian) was a talented Armenian composer and pianist. She was born in Constantinople (which is now Istanbul, Turkey) in 1907. She became known for her beautiful music, which often included traditional Armenian melodies.
When she was 19, Koharik moved to Paris, France. She studied music at the famous Paris Conservatory. There, she learned from important teachers like Paul Dukas and Lazare Lévy. After finishing her studies, she traveled around Europe, performing as a concert pianist. She also spent her time composing her own music. Koharik Gazarossian passed away in Paris in 1967.
Her Musical Creations
Koharik Gazarossian wrote many different kinds of music. She composed pieces for the piano, for small groups of instruments (called chamber music), and for singers. She often used old church songs or traditional folk tunes from Armenia in her compositions.

- "O fille ton nom est Chuchan" (Oh girl! Your name is Chouchan): This is a lively and energetic Armenian dance piece.
These three pieces were originally written for piano. Later, they were arranged for violin and piano.
